Freedom Sunday
What if the fears and anxieties we carry are not signs of brokenness, but rather alarms pointing us toward a deeper healing we have not yet allowed ourselves to receive? This message takes us on a raw and honest journey through the way past traumas shape our present lives, often without us even realizing it. Drawing from the story of Lazarus in John 11, we are reminded that even Jesus wept in the middle of a situation he already knew would be resolved. That single truth gives us permission to feel what we feel, while also calling us forward into something better. We explore a cycle that many of us live inside of without naming it: an event occurs, a lie takes root, we build defenses around that lie, and then we react in ways that quietly close off the very things God is calling us toward. The good news is that this cycle can be broken. Not through willpower or self-help strategies, but through an honest, guided encounter with Jesus that invites him into the specific places where the pain began. Freedom is not just a possibility for some of us. It is available to all of us, right where we are.
